M3-North Carolina - Wilmington wins tough contest against M3-East Carolina University, 6-4

The M3-North Carolina - Wilmington Seahawks gutted out a close 6-4 win against M3-East Carolina University.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Tyler Evangelous at 20:00 of the third period.

In the losing effort, M3-East Carolina University was paced by Matthew Zimmerman, who had two goals. Zimmerman scored the first of his two goals at 20:00 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Zimmerman's next tally made the score 4-3 M3-East Carolina University with zero seconds left in the third period. Rob Casey picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, M3-East Carolina University was led by Zimmerman, who tallied two goals.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M3-East Carolina University power plays. The Seahawks were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington was helped by Kevin Mullaney, who registered one goal. Mullaney scored 20:00 into the third period to make the score 6-4 M3-North Carolina - Wilmington. Giovanni LaManna assisted on the tally. M3-North Carolina - Wilmington also got points from Evangelous, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Danny Brescia, who also had one goal and one assist, and LaManna, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M3-North Carolina - Wilmington included Bennett Clark and Peter Dewar, who scored one goal each. In addition, M3-North Carolina - Wilmington received assists from Henry Frantz, Alex Roback, Max Miller, and Brett Sereikis, who contributed one each.

M3-East Carolina University stifled the Seahawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M3-East Carolina University could not produce up to its normal offensive output. M3-East Carolina University puts an average of 7.3 pucks into the net per game. M3-East Carolina University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

M3-East Carolina University also had goals scored by Justin Stassi and Jason Peduto, who each put in one. More assists for M3-East Carolina University came via Kyle puzar and Jordan Cosby, who each chipped in one.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Seahawks, LaManna was ejected from the game.
