M1 Niagara University takes care of M1 John Carroll University early, wins 10-1

A four-goal first period deficit cost the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks, which could not recover and fell to the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles, 10-1.

M1 Niagara University was sparked by Andrew Mitch, who racked up one goal and one assist. Mitch scored 8:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Niagara University. Josh Pietrantonio assisted on the tally.

The Purple Eagles forced Blue Streaks' goaltenders to work all game long, launching 48 shots and forcing 38 saves. Ronald Schwartz made 10 stops and Matthew Russell made 28. M1 Niagara University's goal total was higher than its season average. The Purple Eagles average 5.4 goals per game.

M1 Niagara University also got points from Dallas Szustak, who also registered one goal and two assists, Tyler Stockwell, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Patrick Gregory, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Dalton Bew, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Austin Wharry, who also registered one goal and one assist. M1 Niagara University also had goals scored by Nick Smith, who had two and Joseph Sheena and matthew Bavaro, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Niagara University were Seth Gustin, Michael Skopinski, Brad Beran, Robert Mcnamara, and Zachary Seither, who contributed one each.

M1 John Carroll University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Blue Streaks could not produce up to their normal offensive output.
