M1 Niagara University shrugs off penalties, upends M1 Oswego State University, 4-1

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles were able to defeat the M1 Oswego State University Lakers, 4-1.

M1 Niagara University was paced by Andrew Mitch, who had one goal and one assist. Mitch scored 55 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 M1 Niagara University. Dalton Bew assisted on the tally.

The Purple Eagles' offense rang up 41 shots on M1 Oswego State University's net. M1 Niagara University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Niagara University also got points from Josh Pietrantonio, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M1 Niagara University included Dallas Szustak and Jeffrey Monfils, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Niagara University received assists from Patrick Gregory, David Hazelet, Ryan Peters, and Austin Wharry, who each chipped in one.

The Lakers stifled the Purple Eagles' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Oswego State University could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Lakers average 4.4 goals per game.

M1 Oswego State University was led by Michael Lucarelli, who scored the team's only goal. Lucarelli scored on the power play 13:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Oswego State University. A too many men penalty on matthew Bavaro had put the Lakers on the power play. Kegan Storjohann provided the assist.

Mike Parda recorded 21 saves for M1 Niagara University. The Purple Eagles registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. M1 Oswego State University's Jimmy Albright stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Lakers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
