The M1 Eastern Michigan University Eagles tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

M1 Oakland University made the score 5-2 on a goal by Spencer Stark at 16:01 in the third period, and M1 Eastern Michigan University got as close as 5-3 when Zachary Willis scored 16:56 into the third period.

The Golden Grizzlies was paced on offense by Stark and Frank Saputo, who combined for six points. Stark registered two goals and one assist and Saputo also notched one goal and two assists.

M1 Oakland University racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Golden Grizzlies surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. The Golden Grizzlies' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.
