M1 Rochester College rips M1 Eastern Michigan University, 5-0

The M1 Eastern Michigan University Eagles had trouble finding ways to stop the M1 Rochester College Warriors, which beat Eagles, 5-0.

M1 Rochester College's penalty kill excelled, as the Warriors gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

M1 Rochester College was sparked by Matt Kadolph, who tallied one goal and one assist. Kadolph scored on the power play 8:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Rochester College. Ryan Jaros provided the assist.

The Warriors forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. M1 Rochester College surpassed its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. The Warriors stifled M1 Eastern Michigan University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 38 shots on target during the contest, M1 Rochester College exceeded the 0.8 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Rochester College also got points from Joey Giordano, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Tj Burns also scored for M1 Rochester College. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Luke Zarzycki, who had two and Brian Fonseca, Michael DiFranco, and Alex Kopek, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game M1 Eastern Michigan University had been spending in the box. The Eagles put 21 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.4 they average per game.

Zakk Olvin rejected 21 shots on goal for the Warriors. M1 Rochester College registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. The Warriors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Truscott was ejected from the game. Kevin oshea made 33 saves for M1 Eastern Michigan University on 38 shots.
