M2 Lewis University had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-2 win over Michigan Technological University.

M2 Lewis University got the win with help from a great game by dane kalas, who had two goals and one assist. Kalas scored the first of his two goals at 11:24 into the first period to make the score 3-1 M2 Lewis University. Brendan Bednarz picked up the assist. kalas' next tally made the score 8-2 M2 Lewis University with 1:09 left in the third period. Bednarz assisted on the tally.

M2 Lewis University pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 25 penalty minutes.

M2 Lewis University kept Michigan Technological University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cason Sjerven made 31 saves on 39 shots. M2 Lewis University's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

M2 Lewis University also got points from Tyler Adams, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, John Schwarz, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Craig Tomassi, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Patrick Nelson, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. M2 Lewis University also had goals scored by Scott Schroeder and Matthew Eberhardt, who scored one goal each. More assists for M2 Lewis University came via Tanner Todd, who had three and Kevin Riedy and Nicholas Johnsen, who contributed one each.

Michigan Technological University was led by Stephen Comperchio, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Comperchio scored on the power play 4:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1.
