M1 Davenport University vanquishes M1 Oakland University in shootout, 3-2 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Davenport University Panthers defeated the M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed 12 turns to complete the shootout. M1 Oakland University got a shootout goal from Ryan Rotondi. M1 Davenport University also got a shootout goal from Jordan Simmonds.

The Panthers were held below their usual level of production. M1 Davenport University puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. The Panthers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 39 shots on goal during the game, better than the 8.4 shots per game they average.

M1 Davenport University was helped by Michael Lozicki, who registered one goal. Lozicki scored 2:35 into the third period to make the score 2-1 M1 Davenport University. Adam Goudelock provided the assist. M1 Davenport University also got a goal from Simmonds as well. In addition, M1 Davenport University received assists from Louie Abounader, who had one.

The Golden Grizzlies' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four M1 Davenport University power plays.

M1 Oakland University was helped by Josh Neumann, who racked up one goal. Neumann scored 18:26 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Rotondi picked up the assist. Mark Mcgee also scored for M1 Oakland University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Oakland University were Ian Jacobs, who had one.

Matt Kaludis rejected 28 shots on goal for the Panthers. M1 Davenport University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Anthony Munoz recorded 36 saves for the Golden Grizzlies. M1 Oakland University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
