M1 Rochester College wins tough contest against M1 Oakland University, 4-2

The game between the M1 Rochester College Warriors and the M1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end M1 Rochester College emerged with a 4-2 win.

The Warriors gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matt Kadolph 13:36 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

M1 Rochester College's penalty kill excelled, as the Warriors gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

M1 Rochester College was paced by Joey Giordano, who registered one goal. Giordano scored 6:53 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M1 Rochester College. Alex Kopek provided the assist.

M1 Oakland University was unable to stop the Warriors from sending pucks towards the net, and M1 Rochester College eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

M1 Rochester College additionally got points from Brock Malatches, who also racked up one goal and one assist. M1 Rochester College also got a goal from Kyle Truscott as well. More assists for M1 Rochester College came via Brian Fonseca, Tj Burns, and Jacob Burford, who contributed one each.

The Golden Grizzlies forced the Warriors goalie Zakk Olvin to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

M1 Oakland University was helped by Douglas Andrews, who tallied one goal. Andrews scored 1:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Tom Kilgore picked up the assist. Nick Rogers also scored for M1 Oakland University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Oakland University were Patrick Smiatacz, Joe Pizzimenti, and Spencer Stark, who each chipped in one.

Zakk Olvin made 31 saves for M1 Rochester College on 33 shots. The Warriors incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Bryce Goulah rejected 29 shots on goal for the Golden Grizzlies. M1 Oakland University ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Golden Grizzlies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Conor Durgan was ejected from the game.
