M2 Rowan University shrugs off penalties, upends M2 Wagner College, 6-2

M2 Rowan University, which found itself down a man often, weathered M2 Wagner College's power play opportunities and emerged with a 6-2 victory.

M2 Rowan University was paced by Matthew Morelli, who registered one goal. Morelli scored on the power play 3:46 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M2 Rowan University. Robert Willwerth picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, M2 Wagner College was led by Brandon Hutchison, who tallied two goals. Hutchison scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 17:00 into the first period to make the score 1-1. M2 Wagner College had taken the advantage when M2 Rowan University's Andrew Dougherty got sent off for hooking. Anthony Decicco assisted on the tally. Hutchison's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 M2 Rowan University with 13:15 left in the third period. Decicco picked up the assist.

M2 Rowan University forced M2 Wagner College goalie Steve Sedlmaier to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots.

M2 Rowan University also had goals scored by Brett Liszewski, Alekos Polis, Grayson Petti, Corey Gehringer, and Christopher McDermott, who each put in one. In addition, M2 Rowan University received assists from Mike Mcgahey, who had one and Michael Vulpio, who had two.

M2 Wagner College's offense rang up 39 shots on M2 Rowan University's net. M2 Wagner College struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Other players who recorded assists for M2 Wagner College were John Perretta, who had one.

Cody Reilly made 37 saves for M2 Rowan University on 39 shots. M2 Rowan University incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Sedlmaier recorded 46 saves for M2 Wagner College. M2 Wagner College registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
