Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) uses shootout to best North Jersey Avalanche (MM), 5-4 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) defeated North Jersey Avalanche (MM) in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) trailed 4-2 after a power play goal by North Jersey Avalanche (MM)'s Matt Kidney at 16:01 in the second period. Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Matthew Novo at 14:15 in the third period.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) forced North Jersey Avalanche (MM) goalie Anthony Porrino to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Others who scored for Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) included ANTHONY HORA and ANDREW HUSTED, who scored one goal each. More assists for Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) came via Matt Damico and GRIFFIN LOUGHRAN, who contributed one each.

Buffalo Jr. Sabres (MM) was unable to stop North Jersey Avalanche (MM) from sending pucks towards the net, and North Jersey Avalanche (MM) eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. North Jersey Avalanche (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

North Jersey Avalanche (MM) also had goals scored by Hampton Bobby and Brendan Ondick, who each put in one.
