M1 Davenport University wins tough contest against M1 Liberty University, 5-3

The M1 Davenport University Panthers gutted out a close 5-3 win against the M1 Liberty University Flames.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jordan Simmonds's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

M1 Davenport University was paced by Simmonds, who tallied one goal. Simmonds scored 12:52 into the third period to make the score 4-3 M1 Davenport University. Matt Ogden picked up the assist.

With 42 shots on target during the contest, the Panthers exceeded the 6.7 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Davenport University additionally got points from Cameron Dimmitt, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M1 Davenport University included Chris Eckler, Kody Polin, and Alyx Fonseca, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Davenport University came via Stephen Flood, who had two and Aaron Beally, Michael Lozicki, and Alex Hulford, who contributed one each.

M1 Liberty University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 Davenport University power plays.
