The M1 Lindenwood University Lions tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the M1 Davenport University Panthers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Travis White put M1 Davenport University up 2-0 in the second period, but M1 Lindenwood University pulled to within one on Riley Spraggs's tally 32 seconds into the third period.

The Panthers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

M1 Davenport University stifled the Lions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 25 shots on goal, the Panthers exceeded the 8.1 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Davenport University was helped by Chris Eckler, who had one goal. Eckler scored on the power play 17:20 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Davenport University. The Panthers had gained a power play chance when Brennan Luscombe was whistled for boarding. Matt Ogden picked up the assist. M1 Davenport University also got a goal from Cody Walsh as well. More assists for M1 Davenport University came via Jordan Simmonds, who had two and Kody Polin and Everett Thompson, who contributed one each.

M1 Lindenwood University put 28 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.5 it averages per game.

The Lions were helped by Michael Lozano, who registered one goal. Lozano scored 10:46 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Spraggs assisted on the tally. M1 Lindenwood University also got points from Spraggs, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Lindenwood University received assists from Graham Zagrodney and Jake Fairchild, who each chipped in one.

Matt Kaludis recorded 26 saves for M1 Davenport University. The Panthers registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Cody Karpinski made 22 saves for M1 Lindenwood University on 25 shots. The Lions incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
