Early goals doom M1 John Carroll University, falls to M1 Davenport University, 9-0Patterson IC 1 Fri, Sep 25, 2015 The M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks fell behind early, and the M1 Davenport University Panthers kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-0 victory. Travis White had two goals and one assist to lead M1 Davenport University. White scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 38 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Davenport University. The Panthers had gained a power play chance when Tyler Gaglia was whistled for high sticking. Cody Walsh picked up the assist. White's next tally on the power play made the score 7-0 M1 Davenport University with 20 seconds left in the second period. A slashing penalty on Jak Karls had put M1 Davenport University on the power play. Cameron Dimmitt assisted on the tally. M1 John Carroll University's six penalties came back to haunt it, as the Blue Streaks let up four goals while on the penalty kill. The Blue Streaks struggled to put together a cohesive attack and finished with a mere seven shots over the course of the game. Still, the total topped M1 John Carroll University's average of 0.3 per game this year. Matt Kaludis recorded seven saves for the Panthers. M1 Davenport University incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Panthers, Ogden and Alyx Fonseca were ejected from the contest. Matthew Russell made 44 saves for the Blue Streaks on 53 shots. M1 John Carroll University incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Blue Streaks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kip Sweeney was ejected from the game.
