Phillipes' hat trick boosts M3-Widener University over M3-Salisbury University, 6-3

Drew Phillipes netted a hat trick to lead M3-Widener University over M3-Salisbury University, 6-3.

Phillipes got on the scoresheet 13:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:13 into the first and at 15:00 into the third.

M3-Widener University forced M3-Salisbury University's goaltenders to work in net, taking 51 shots and forcing 45 saves. Robert Preller made 25 stops and Bradley Geyer made 20.

M3-Widener University additionally got points from Jimmy Paul, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tim Leach, who also racked up two goals and one assist. In addition, M3-Widener University received assists from Mike Tarquini, who had two and nicholas lane and Matthew Reed, who contributed one each.

M3-Salisbury University forced M3-Widener University goalie Matt Vesper to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

M3-Salisbury University was led by Evan Lacroix, who had two goals. Lacroix scored the first of his two goals at 10:00 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Saffron picked up the assist. Lacroix's next tally made the score 4-2 M3-Widener University with 5:20 left in the second period. Saffron provided the assist. Freddie Ondris also scored for M3-Salisbury University. Other players who recorded assists for M3-Salisbury University were Anthony Fortescue, who had one.

Matt Vesper made 35 saves for M3-Widener University on 38 shots. M3-Widener University finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage. M3-Salisbury University avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
