Beaton leads Kemptville Midget AAA over Brockville Midget AAA, 7-3

John Beaton was all over the ice for the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Kemptville Midget AAA's 7-3 win over the Brockville Midget AAA Braves.

Beaton scored at 10:56 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Kemptville Midget AAA and again while on the power play 10:47 into the third to make the score 6-2 Kemptville Midget AAA.

The 73s' offense rang up 50 shots on Brockville Midget AAA's net. Kemptville Midget AAA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the 73s average 3.3 goals per contest. Kemptville Midget AAA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Kemptville Midget AAA also got points from Troy Quinn, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Joel Holtrop, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Devin Saumur, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kemptville Midget AAA included Patrick Yates and Dean Bucciarelli, who each put in one. More assists for Kemptville Midget AAA came via Jordan Currie, who had two, Jarrett Williams, who had three, and Owen Scott, Zach Cohen, Jack York, Jack Walsh, and Brady Elder, who each chipped in one.

The Braves forced the 73s goalie Nick Bond to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Brockville Midget AAA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Braves finished with 22 penalty minutes.

Brockville Midget AAA was helped by Cameron Hebert, who had one goal. Hebert scored on the power play 3:21 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kemptville Midget AAA. The Braves had gained a power play chance when Elder was whistled for hooking. Jared Patterson assisted on the tally. Adam VanEttinger also scored for Brockville Midget AAA. In addition, Brockville Midget AAA received assists from Serron Noel and Mark Morrison, who contributed one each.

Bond rejected 34 shots on goal for Kemptville Midget AAA. The 73s registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Ryan Green made 43 saves for Brockville Midget AAA on 50 shots. The Braves registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
