M1 Towson University holds on for 3-2 win against M2 Army

M2 Army tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but the M1 Towson University Tigers held on for a 3-2 victory.

M1 Towson University made the score 3-0 on a goal by Jeremy Snyder at 16:33 in the second period, and M2 Army got as close as 3-2 when Nick Curtin scored 18:05 into the third period.

The Tigers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes.

M1 Towson University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight M2 Army power plays.

The Tigers were helped by Ian Dykstra, who registered one goal. Dykstra scored 11:56 into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Towson University. Chris Szoka picked up the assist. Matt Stella also scored for M1 Towson University. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Towson University were Todd Clingerman and Michael Darosa, who each chipped in one.

M2 Army excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. M2 Army was held below its usual level of production. M2 Army puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

M2 Army also got a goal from Chris Callahan as well. More assists for M2 Army came via Zach Cohen and Matt Ouellette, who contributed one each.

Tyler Stewardson made 23 saves for M1 Towson University on 25 shots. M2 Army's Nicholas Candelmo stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. M2 Army incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
