Clark's hat trick boosts M3-North Carolina - Wilmington over M3-Coastal Carolina University, 8-5

Bennett Clark lifted the M3-North Carolina - Wilmington Seahawks to an 8-5 victory with a hat trick against M3-Coastal Carolina University.

Clark's first goal came 7:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:16 into the third and at 11:37 into the third.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M3-Coastal Carolina University to score on any of its five power plays. The Seahawks kept M3-Coastal Carolina University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Drew Taveroni made 35 saves on 43 shots.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington also got points from Tyler Evangelous, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Kevin Mullaney, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Danny Brescia also scored for M3-North Carolina - Wilmington. More assists for M3-North Carolina - Wilmington came via Erik Kirkham, who had four and Henry Frantz, Evan Henry, Alex Roback, and Zacharie Cormier, who contributed one each.

M3-Coastal Carolina University's offense rang up 31 shots on M3-North Carolina - Wilmington's net.

M3-Coastal Carolina University was helped by Matthew Kinchla, who racked up two goals. Kinchla scored the first of his two goals at 8:10 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Jonathan Spitz assisted on the tally. Kinchla's next tally made the score 4-4 with 8:30 left in the second period. Steve Kaufmann picked up the assist. M3-Coastal Carolina University additionally got points from Kaufmann, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. M3-Coastal Carolina University also had goals scored by Austin Macwhinnie and Nicholas Morris, who scored one goal each. In addition, M3-Coastal Carolina University received assists from Thomas Coleman, who had two and Sayer Zimmerman, Curtis Rattner, and Ryan Lawrence, who each chipped in one.

Nick Lenker made 26 saves for the Seahawks on 31 shots. M3-North Carolina - Wilmington incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. M3-Coastal Carolina University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
