M3-North Carolina - Wilmington survives M3-Coastal Carolina University comeback, wins 5-3

M3-Coastal Carolina University tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but the M3-North Carolina - Wilmington Seahawks held on for a 5-3 victory.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have M3-Coastal Carolina University storm back on a Steve Kaufmann goal 19:56 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

M3-Coastal Carolina University's power play was ineffective against the Seahawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M3-Coastal Carolina University to score on any of its eight power plays. The Seahawks' offense rang up 37 shots on M3-Coastal Carolina University's net. M3-North Carolina - Wilmington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Seahawks were led by Giovanni LaManna, who tallied one goal and one assist. LaManna scored 15:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bennett Clark provided the assist. M3-North Carolina - Wilmington also got points from Tyler Evangelous, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for M3-North Carolina - Wilmington included Alexander Furtado, Kevin Mullaney, and Evan Henry, who each put in one. In addition, M3-North Carolina - Wilmington received assists from Erik Kirkham, Danny Brescia, and Alex Roback, who each chipped in one.

M3-North Carolina - Wilmington was unable to stop M3-Coastal Carolina University from sending pucks towards the net, and M3-Coastal Carolina University eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

M3-Coastal Carolina University was helped by Nick Downie, who registered one goal. Downie scored 10:26 into the second period to make the score 4-2 M3-North Carolina - Wilmington. Kaufmann picked up the assist. M3-Coastal Carolina University additionally got points from Kaufmann, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M3-Coastal Carolina University also got a goal from Nicholas Larsen as well. Other players who recorded assists for M3-Coastal Carolina University were Curtis Rattner and Thomas Coleman, who contributed one each.
