The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams.M1 Adrian College came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bulldogs trailed 3-2 after a power play goal by M1 Western Michigan University's Richard Zehnal at 8:24 in the third period. M1 Adrian College knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Erik Alden at 17:53 in the third period. The Bulldogs were led by Brad Kobryn, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kobryn scored 8:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Ted Anstett picked up the assist. M1 Adrian College's offense was clicking better than usual and put 27 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.6 shot per game it averages.
