M3-Coastal Carolina University downs UNC-Charlotte 49ers in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Steve Kaufmann gave M3-Coastal Carolina University a 5-4 (OT) victory over UNC-Charlotte 49ers when he scored 1:12 into the extra period.

M3-Coastal Carolina University came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. M3-Coastal Carolina University trailed 3-1 after a goal by UNC-Charlotte 49ers' Andrew Miller at 19:18 in the first period. M3-Coastal Carolina University knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Miller at 9:19 in the third period.

Matthew Kinchla was all over the ice for M3-Coastal Carolina University, as he tallied two goals in the win. Kinchla scored at 5:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M3-Coastal Carolina University and again while 6:19 into the second to make the score 3-3.

M3-Coastal Carolina University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. UNC-Charlotte 49ers was unable to stop M3-Coastal Carolina University from sending pucks towards the net, and M3-Coastal Carolina University eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

M3-Coastal Carolina University also got points from Kaufmann, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Thomas Coleman, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. M3-Coastal Carolina University also got a goal from Sayer Zimmerman as well. More assists for M3-Coastal Carolina University came via Jeremy Sweeting, Patrick McCardle, Curtis Rattner, Nicholas Morris, and Nick Downie, who contributed one each.

Sam Reedy also scored for UNC-Charlotte 49ers. In addition, UNC-Charlotte 49ers received assists from Philip Arnold, who had one, Eric Mura, who had two, and Zachary Usinger, who had three.

Drew Taveroni rejected 20 shots on goal for M3-Coastal Carolina University. M3-Coastal Carolina University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Daniel Toland recorded 30 saves for UNC-Charlotte 49ers. UNC-Charlotte 49ers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
