Bew nets hat trick, leads M1 Niagara University to 8-4 win over M1 Cortland State University of NY

The M1 Cortland State University of NY Red Dragons could not stop the M1 Niagara University Purple Eagles' Dalton Bew, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-4 win.

Bew notched his first tally 15 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 53 seconds into the second and at 9:10 into the second.

M1 Cortland State University of NY's power play was ineffective against M1 Niagara University's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Purple Eagles kept the Red Dragons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Artie Haase made 54 saves on 62 shots. M1 Niagara University outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Purple Eagles average 3.6 goals per contest. M1 Niagara University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 44 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Niagara University also got points from Andrew Mitch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Josh Pietrantonio, who also finished with one goal and three assists. M1 Niagara University also got a goal from Nick Smith as well. In addition, M1 Niagara University received assists from Dallas Szustak, who had two and Tyler Stockwell and Anthony Strollo, who contributed one each.

M1 Cortland State University of NY forced the Purple Eagles' goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. Mike Parda made 32 stops and Andrew Depuy made five. The Red Dragons got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

M1 Cortland State University of NY was led by Andrew Bourdeau, who registered two goals. Bourdeau scored the first of his two goals at 48 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-1.
