M1 Towson University vanquishes M1 Duquesne University in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Towson University Tigers defeated the M1 Duquesne University Dukes in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.

M1 Towson University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Tigers kept M1 Duquesne University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Taylor made 32 saves on 36 shots.

M1 Towson University was helped by Ian Dykstra, who registered one goal and one assist. Dykstra scored 10:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 M1 Towson University. Nicholas Bickerstaff provided the assist. M1 Towson University additionally got points from Ryan Buccigrossi, who also had one goal and one assist. M1 Towson University also got a goal from Matt Stella as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Towson University were Nicholas Vonakis, who had one and Jeremy Snyder, who had two.

The Dukes were helped by Arthur Birman, who tallied one goal. Birman scored 11:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Towson University. Tim Freed picked up the assist. M1 Duquesne University also got points from Zak Kindya, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Eric Smith, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Duquesne University received assists from Michael Iannello, who had one and Nolan Trombetta, who had two.

Tyler Stewardson recorded 22 saves for the Tigers. M1 Towson University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. M1 Duquesne University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
