M3-Penn State-Behrend survives penalties, beats M3-Cleveland State University, 7-3

M3-Cleveland State University failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and M3-Penn State-Behrend shook off a number of penalties to win, 7-3.

M3-Penn State-Behrend was led by Logan Conboy, who racked up one goal. Conboy scored on the power play 6:21 into the second period to make the score 4-2 M3-Penn State-Behrend. M3-Penn State-Behrend had gotten the advantage when M3-Cleveland State University's Greg Kacsmarik was sent off for tripping. Matthew Lorei picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, M3-Cleveland State University was sparked by Ron Narolewski, who had two goals and one assist. Narolewski scored the first of his two goals at 6:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brendan McCann assisted on the tally. Narolewski's next tally made the score 5-3 M3-Penn State-Behrend with 14:16 left in the third period. Sam Eisler picked up the assist.

M3-Penn State-Behrend excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 11 chances. M3-Penn State-Behrend forced M3-Cleveland State University goalie Kyle Seaman to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. M3-Penn State-Behrend outdid its season average for goals scored. M3-Penn State-Behrend averages 4.5 goals per game. M3-Penn State-Behrend could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

M3-Penn State-Behrend additionally got points from Kenny Gross, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Nathan Ropelewski, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Brenden Mcfarlane, who also registered one goal and two assists. M3-Penn State-Behrend also had goals scored by Justin Dedionisio, Parker Faix, and Ryan Spengler, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M3-Penn State-Behrend were Andrew Coyle, Steve Frangione, and Justin Wehrli, who each chipped in one.

M3-Cleveland State University found itself short handed often, totaling 20 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. With 36 shots on target during the contest, M3-Cleveland State University exceeded the 0.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Derek Shaffer took the win and made 31 saves before being replaced by Christopher Lashway who made two saves. Seaman recorded 32 saves for M3-Cleveland State University.
