M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania beats M1 Pittsburgh University of 4-3 after comeback scare

The M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers on the way to a 4-3 win.

M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have M1 Pittsburgh University of storm back on a Jonathan Kashmere goal 17:30 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Panthers' power play was ineffective against the Crimson Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. With 20 shots on target during the contest, the Crimson Hawks exceeded the 0.3 shots they average per game this year. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Crimson Hawks were helped by Leo Blore, who tallied one goal. Blore scored 13:20 into the first period to make the score 2-1 M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania. Anthony Venezia provided the assist.
