The M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights relied on the scoring touch of James Felice, who netted two goals, to beat the M1 West Chester University Golden Rams, 3-1.

Felice found the back of the net 7:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 M1 Rutgers University and again while 19:47 into the third to make the score 3-1 M1 Rutgers University.

M1 Rutgers University's Thomas Marigliano was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Marigliano will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 5.19.

The Scarlet Knights' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M1 West Chester University power plays. With 28 shots on target during the contest, M1 Rutgers University exceeded the 3.0 shots it averages per game this year. The defensemen of the Scarlet Knights were also effective in M1 West Chester University's zone, and came away with two goals.

Wesley Austin also scored for M1 Rutgers University. In addition, M1 Rutgers University received assists from Andrew Yasenchock and CJ Maksut, who each chipped in one and Griffin Privitera and Kevin Rivera, who contributed two each.

M1 West Chester University was led by Michael Dorfschneider, who scored the team's only goal. Dorfschneider scored 16:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Rutgers University. james Davis picked up the assist.

M1 Rutgers University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Rice rejected 25 shots on goal for the Golden Rams. M1 West Chester University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
