The Kanata Midget AAA Lasers' penalty kill was superb, as Kanata Midget AAA survived multiple penalties to beat the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders, 5-1.

The Lasers were led by Bennett Stockdale, who racked up one goal. Stockdale scored 9:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata Midget AAA. Nathan MacKechnie picked up the assist.

Kanata Midget AAA stifled Nepean Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Kanata Midget AAA additionally got points from Luca Nocita, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kanata Midget AAA also got a goal from Brian Bygrave as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kanata Midget AAA were David Silye, who had two and Felix Tourigny, Adam Church, and Kyle Lefebvre, who contributed one each.

The Raiders were led by Aidan Harris, who scored the team's only goal. Harris scored 5:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean Midget AAA. Nicholas Domitrovic assisted on the tally.

Jean-Philippe Tourigny recorded 14 saves for the Lasers. Kanata Midget AAA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Anand Oberoi made 20 saves for Nepean Midget AAA on 25 shots. The Raiders totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play. Nepean Midget AAA ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Geoff Dempster was ejected from the game.
