The OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17 tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Cornwall Midget AAA Colts would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

A goal by Ryan Vipond put Cornwall Midget AAA up 3-0 in the third period, but OHA U18 Midget AAA pulled to within two on Zach Letto's tally 15:19 into the third period.

The Colts were led by goalie Grant Craig, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Craig certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.22 entering the contest.

Cornwall Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the OHA U17 to score on any of their six power plays.

The Colts were helped by Joseph Samson, who grabbed one goal. Samson scored 1:39 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Cornwall Midget AAA. Noah Konink picked up the assist. In addition, Cornwall Midget AAA received assists from Ethan Mulhearn, who had one and Jonah Peters, who had two.

OHA U18 Midget AAA stifled Cornwall Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

More assists for OHA U18 Midget AAA came via Josh Kim and Heath Ford, who each chipped in one.

The Colts incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Danick Francoeur made 17 saves for the OHA U17 on 20 shots. OHA U18 Midget AAA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
