The Kanata Midget AAA Lasers' penalty kill was superb, as Kanata Midget AAA survived multiple penalties to beat the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders, 3-1. The Lasers were sparked by Felix Tourigny, who registered one goal. Tourigny scored 13:36 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Kanata Midget AAA. Nathan MacKechnie assisted on the tally. Kanata Midget AAA stifled Nepean Midget AAA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lasers kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anand Oberoi made 43 saves on 46 shots. Kanata Midget AAA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Others who scored for Kanata Midget AAA included Daniel McIntyre and Brian Bygrave, who each put in one. In addition, Kanata Midget AAA received assists from Cade Townend, who had two and Adam Church and Kyle Lefebvre, who contributed one each. Nepean Midget AAA found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. The Raiders were led by Robbie Pickard, who scored the team's only goal. Pickard scored short handed 13:59 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nepean Midget AAA was on a disadvantage when Lukash Matthews went off the ice for head contact. Ethan Rendell-Watson picked up the assist. Jean-Philippe Tourigny made 24 saves for the Lasers on 25 shots. The Raiders registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities.
