Paul Larabie scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Nepean Midget AAA Raiders held off the challenges of the Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks in a tough 2-0 win.

Larabie provided Nepean Midget AAA with the game-winning tally when he scored 8:25 into the first period. The Raiders had gained a power play chance when Mathieu Grandmont was whistled for game misconduct. Ryan Kaufman provided the assist.

Anand Oberoi spearheaded the defensive effort for Nepean Midget AAA, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 26 saves for the shutout. The solid play of Oberoi will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.29.

The Raiders were led by Larabie, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Nepean Midget AAA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Hawkesbury Midget AAA power plays. The Raiders' defensive play was more effective than usual against Hawkesbury Midget AAA. Nepean Midget AAA averages 2.6 goals allowed per game.

Connor Lacey also scored for Nepean Midget AAA. In addition, Nepean Midget AAA received assists from Owen Ledwell and Aidan Harris, who contributed one each.

The Hawks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Hawkesbury Midget AAA averages 2.6 goals per game.

The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks' Connor Morris stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Hawkesbury Midget AAA ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Grandmont was ejected from the game.
