Kemptville Midget AAA made the score 3-1 on a goal by Brady Elder at 10:44 in the second period, and Carleton Place Midget AAA got as close as 3-2 when Liam Markhauser scored 14:28 into the third period.

The 73s pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 38 penalty minutes.

Kemptville Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The 73s kept the Canadians' goalie busy throughout the game, and Chris Cuglietta made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Kemptville Midget AAA additionally got points from Mike Armstrong, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jack Walsh also scored for Kemptville Midget AAA.
