M1 Mercyhurst University survives M1 Pittsburgh University of comeback, wins 5-4

The M1 Pittsburgh University of Panthers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the M1 Mercyhurst University Lakers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

M1 Mercyhurst University made the score 5-3 on a goal by Dominick Zangaro at 11:21 in the third period, and M1 Pittsburgh University of got as close as 5-4 when Elliot Tisdale scored 19:53 into the third period.

Darnell Clarke had a great game for the Lakers, netting two goals. Clarke scored at 32 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Mercyhurst University and again while 19:28 into the second to make the score 3-3.

M1 Mercyhurst University excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Lakers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 26 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.8 shot per game they average.

M1 Mercyhurst University also got points from Zangaro, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points.
