Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M2 Rowan University defeated M2 Rider University in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed 12 turns to complete the shootout. M2 Rider University got a shootout goal from Christopher Johnson. M2 Rowan University's other shootout goal was scored by Alekos Polis.

M2 Rowan University came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. M2 Rowan University was down 3-2 after a goal by M2 Rider University's John Martino at 5:27 in the third period. M2 Rowan University knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Mike Mcgahey at 15:02 in the third period.

In a losing effort, M2 Rider University was sparked by Johnson, who racked up one goal and two assists. Johnson scored 3:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M2 Rider University. Martino assisted on the tally.

M2 Rowan University kept M2 Rider University's goalie busy throughout the game, and CJ Lineman made 28 saves on 32 shots.

M2 Rowan University additionally got points from Robert Willwerth, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Peter Kaz also scored for M2 Rowan University. In addition, M2 Rowan University received assists from Alec Nicolai, Matthew Morelli, and Polis, who contributed one each.

M2 Rowan University was unable to stop M2 Rider University from sending pucks towards the net, and M2 Rider University eventually piled up 52 shots on goal.

M2 Rider University also got points from Martino, who also finished with one goal and one assist. M2 Rider University also got a goal from Conner Fox as well. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Rider University were Patrick Grilli and Andrew Heinz, who each chipped in one.
