Lambert nets hat trick, leads Ottawa Midget AAA to 7-4 win over Cornwall Midget AAA

The Cornwall Midget AAA Colts could not stop the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators' Daniel Lambert, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-4 win.

Lambert notched his first tally 14:18 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:38 into the second and at 16:06 into the third.

Cornwall Midget AAA's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the Colts let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Ottawa Midget AAA kept Cornwall Midget AAA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Grant Craig made 27 saves on 34 shots. The Senators surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Ottawa Midget AAA averages 3.3 goals per game. The Senators got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Ottawa Midget AAA additionally got points from Merrick Rippon, who also tallied one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Ottawa Midget AAA also got a goal from Nicholas Raponi de Roia as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa Midget AAA were Griffin McGregor, who had two and Adrien Bisson, Noah Haymes, and Marcus Stepto, who contributed one each.

The Colts capitalized on Ottawa Midget AAA's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Cornwall Midget AAA's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. The Colts' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Cornwall Midget AAA finished with 14 penalty minutes.

The Colts were led by Noah Konink, who had three goals. Joseph Samson also scored for Cornwall Midget AAA. In addition, Cornwall Midget AAA received assists from Evan Huntley and Ryan Vipond, who each chipped in one and Ethan Mulhearn and Brant Woodside, who contributed two each.

Nicolas Rousseau recorded 16 saves for the Senators. Ottawa Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
