Carleton Place Midget AAA outlasts Pembroke Midget AAA, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Liam Markhauser secured the win for Carleton Place Midget AAA with a goal in the third period.

Markhauser had two goals to lead the Canadians to victory.

Carleton Place Midget AAA got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Carleton Place Midget AAA additionally got points from Brayden Campeau, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Reece Bolton also scored for Carleton Place Midget AAA. More assists for Carleton Place Midget AAA came via Ryland Mosley, who had two and Emile Cyr, Dale Kilby, Anthony Douchant, and Michael Leach, who each chipped in one.

Pembroke Midget AAA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Lumber Kings were led by Lawson Leclaire, who registered two goals. Leclaire scored the first of his two goals at 13:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Payton Jardine assisted on the tally. Leclaire's next tally made the score 2-1 Pembroke Midget AAA with 16:05 left in the third period. Jackson Norlock picked up the assist. In addition, Pembroke Midget AAA received assists from Chris Grose, who had one.

Michael Leach made 17 saves for the Canadians on 19 shots. Carleton Place Midget AAA totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Canadians, Cameron Scissons was ejected from the game. Jake Smith rejected 23 shots on goal for Pembroke Midget AAA. The Lumber Kings registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Pembroke Midget AAA ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Reid Barber was ejected from the game.
