M3-Widener University beats M3-Catholic University of America 6-5 after comeback scare

M3-Catholic University of America tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but M3-Widener University held on for a 6-5 victory.

A goal by Tom Neher put M3-Widener University up 6-3 in the third period, but M3-Catholic University of America pulled to within one on Nick Hostovsky's tally 17:40 into the third period.

Matthew Reed was all over the ice for M3-Widener University, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Reed scored the first of his two goals at 6:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M3-Widener University. Drew Phillipes picked up the assist. Reed's next tally made the score 4-2 M3-Widener University with 14:21 left in the second period. Tim Leach assisted on the tally.

M3-Widener University forced M3-Catholic University of America goalie Ian McQuestion to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

M3-Widener University additionally got points from Brian OConnell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Neher, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Leach, who also registered one goal and one assist.
