Bennett Stockdale gave the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers the lead in the first period, and the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Cameron Scott spearheaded the defensive effort for the Lasers, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 26 saves for the shutout. Scott managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.86 prior to the game.

Kanata Midget AAA was paced by Stockdale, who registered one goal and one assist.

The Lasers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Kanata Midget AAA featured an improved defense during the game. The Lasers average 2.3 goals allowed per game. Kanata Midget AAA forced Carleton Place Midget AAA goalie Chris Cuglietta to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Kanata Midget AAA also got a goal from Luca Nocita as well. More assists for Kanata Midget AAA came via Mack Miller, who had one.

The Canadians' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kanata Midget AAA power plays. Carleton Place Midget AAA could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Canadians average 3.5 goals per game.

The Lasers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cuglietta rejected 31 shots on goal for Carleton Place Midget AAA. The Canadians incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
