Cumberland Midget AAA vanquishes Gloucester Midget AAA in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Cumberland Midget AAA Grads defeated the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. Gloucester Midget AAA got a shootout goal from Greg Love. In addition to the clincher, Cumberland Midget AAA got a shootout goal from Alex Robert.

The Grads came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Cumberland Midget AAA was down 3-2 after a goal by the Rangers' Marc Brosseau at 12:30 in the second period. The Grads knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Zakary Rodrigue at 5:41 in the third period.

Cumberland Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Gloucester Midget AAA to score on any of its four power plays. The Grads' offense rang up 45 shots on the Rangers' net.

Cumberland Midget AAA was helped by Wil Murray, who tallied one goal. Murray scored 7:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alex Wall picked up the assist. Cumberland Midget AAA also got a goal from Adam Goodfellow as well. More assists for Cumberland Midget AAA came via Mathieu Plante, Noah Johnston, and Robert, who each chipped in one.

The Grads were unable to stop Gloucester Midget AAA from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Gloucester Midget AAA additionally got points from Connor Noonan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Erik Ross also scored for Gloucester Midget AAA. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester Midget AAA were Nicolas Seguin, who had two and Sean Rakowski, Neil Gummeson, and Harry Sanders, who contributed one each.

Kai Edmonds made 37 saves for Cumberland Midget AAA on 40 shots. The Grads incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brent Pledge-Dickson recorded 41 saves for Gloucester Midget AAA. The Rangers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
