Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians defeated the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

Carleton Place Midget AAA overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Canadians trailed 2-1 after a goal by Smiths Falls Midget AAA's Nathan Bisson at 7:07 in the third period. Carleton Place Midget AAA tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Brayden Campeau at 15:57 in the third period.

The Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Carleton Place Midget AAA was led by Ryan Shaw, who had one goal and one assist. Shaw scored 4:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ryland Mosley picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place Midget AAA were Spencer Marshall and Skylar Quartermain, who contributed one each.

The Bears' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Carleton Place Midget AAA power plays.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA was helped by Josh Bifolchi, who racked up one goal. Bifolchi scored 2:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls Midget AAA. Brock Boisclair assisted on the tally. In addition, Smiths Falls Midget AAA received assists from Matthew Bidin and Nathaniel Watson, who each chipped in one.

Michael Leach recorded 14 saves for the Canadians. Carleton Place Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Zoutis rejected 26 shots on goal for the Bears. Smiths Falls Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
