Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians defeated the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.Carleton Place Midget AAA came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Canadians was down 3-0 after a goal by Kemptville Midget AAA's Devin Saumur at 13:52 in the second period. Carleton Place Midget AAA knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Mike Armstrong at 19:45 in the third period. Logan Buchanan had a great game for the Canadians, netting two goals. Buchanan's tallies came at 13:43 into the third period to make the score 3-3 and 15:53 into the third to make the score 4-3 Carleton Place Midget AAA. Carleton Place Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Canadians' offense rang up 32 shots on the 73s' net.
