Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians defeated the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO).

Carleton Place Midget AAA came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Canadians was down 3-0 after a goal by Kemptville Midget AAA's Devin Saumur at 13:52 in the second period. Carleton Place Midget AAA knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Mike Armstrong at 19:45 in the third period.

Logan Buchanan had a great game for the Canadians, netting two goals. Buchanan's tallies came at 13:43 into the third period to make the score 3-3 and 15:53 into the third to make the score 4-3 Carleton Place Midget AAA.

Carleton Place Midget AAA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Canadians' offense rang up 32 shots on the 73s' net. Carleton Place Midget AAA's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Canadians average 1.8 goal allowed per game.

Carleton Place Midget AAA also got points from Reece Bolton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ryland Mosley also scored for Carleton Place Midget AAA. In addition, Carleton Place Midget AAA received assists from Oliver Carriere, who had two and Emile Cyr, Liam Markhauser, Ryan Bangs, Cameron Scissons, and Scott Gervais, who contributed one each.

Kemptville Midget AAA forced Carleton Place Midget AAA goalie Michael Leach to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

The 73s were helped by Joel Holtrop, who finished with one goal. Holtrop scored 4:57 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville Midget AAA. Jarrett Williams picked up the assist. Kemptville Midget AAA also got a goal from Ryan Pawlikowski as well. More assists for Kemptville Midget AAA came via Patrick Yates, John Beaton, Dean Bucciarelli, Jack Walsh, and Jordan Currie, who each chipped in one.

Michael Leach made 42 saves for the Canadians on 46 shots. Carleton Place Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nick Bond recorded 27 saves for Kemptville Midget AAA. The 73s incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
