The Ottawa Midget AAA Senators survived a determined comeback attempt by the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears on the way to a 3-1 win.

Ottawa Midget AAA made the score 3-0 on a goal by Griffin McGregor at 5:33 in the third period, and Smiths Falls Midget AAA got as close as 3-1 when Connor Drost scored 19:10 into the third period.

Tyler Villeneuve was all over the ice for the Senators, as he finished with two goals in the win. Villeneuve found the back of the net 1:38 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa Midget AAA and again while 4:22 into the second to make the score 2-0 Ottawa Midget AAA.

Ottawa Midget AAA stifled the Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Merrick Rippon, who had two and Jean-Sylvain Boyer, Daniel Lambert, and Tyler Newell, who contributed one each.

Smiths Falls Midget AAA managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Bears finished below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game.

Nicolas Rousseau made 21 saves for the Senators on 22 shots. Ottawa Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Smiths Falls Midget AAA's Kyle Renaud stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Bears registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
