Kemptville Midget AAA rolls over Smiths Falls Midget AAA, 6-2

The Kemptville Midget AAA 73s had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Smiths Falls Midget AAA Bears.

Kemptville Midget AAA was paced by Zach Cohen, who grabbed one goal. Cohen scored 13:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville Midget AAA. Dean Bucciarelli picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, Smiths Falls Midget AAA was led by Sebastien Semerdjiev, who finished with two goals. Semerdjiev scored the first of his two goals at 7:23 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Blake Kettyle provided the assist. Semerdjiev's next tally made the score 4-2 Kemptville Midget AAA with 5:56 left in the third period. Kettyle picked up the assist.

The 73s excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Kemptville Midget AAA's goal total was higher than its season average. The 73s average 3.0 goals per game.

Kemptville Midget AAA additionally got points from John Beaton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jarrett Williams, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kemptville Midget AAA also had goals scored by Mike Armstrong, Joel Holtrop, and Jordan Currie, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kemptville Midget AAA received assists from Jack York, who had two and Ryan Pawlikowski and Brady Elder, who each chipped in one.

The Bears' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Smiths Falls Midget AAA gives up 2.4 goals per game.
