Hawkesbury Midget AAA vanquishes Gloucester Midget AAA in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Hawkesbury Midget AAA Hawks defeated the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Hawks trailed 3-2 after a goal by Gloucester Midget AAA's Sean Rakowski at 10:14 in the third period. Hawkesbury Midget AAA tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Liam Calder at 19:00 in the third period.

The Hawks kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brent Pledge-Dickson made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Hawkesbury Midget AAA was helped by Cameron Buck, who tallied one goal. Buck scored 9:01 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brandon Legare provided the assist. Hawkesbury Midget AAA also got a goal from Tyler Boivin as well. In addition, Hawkesbury Midget AAA received assists from Mathieu Grandmont, Brett Romain, and Ryan Wells, who contributed one each.

The Hawks were unable to stop Gloucester Midget AAA from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Gloucester Midget AAA's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

The Rangers were helped by Marc Brosseau, who racked up one goal. Brosseau scored 4:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Erik Ross also scored for Gloucester Midget AAA. More assists for Gloucester Midget AAA came via Cameron Sinclair and Adam Johnston, who each chipped in one.

Alex Labreche rejected 31 shots on goal for Hawkesbury Midget AAA. The Hawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gloucester Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
