M1 Lindenwood University wins tough contest against M1 Robert Morris Univ Illinois, 4-2

The M1 Lindenwood University Lions and the M1 Robert Morris Univ Illinois Eagles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but M1 Lindenwood University made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Stephen Bopp's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The Lions were led by Bopp, who tallied one goal. Bopp scored 4:25 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Lindenwood University. Riley Spraggs picked up the assist.

M1 Robert Morris Univ Illinois was unable to stop M1 Lindenwood University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lions eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. M1 Lindenwood University found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

M1 Lindenwood University additionally got points from Tommy Heinzman, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tobias Nasgarde, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lukas Daniels also scored for M1 Lindenwood University. In addition, M1 Lindenwood University received assists from Brandon Rumble, Adam Newkirk, Graham Zagrodney, and Jake Fairchild, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.
