Hovanec's goals lift M1 Lebanon Valley College to 8-2 victory over M1 West Chester University

Bryan Hovanec was all over the ice for the M1 Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen, as he tallied two goals in M1 Lebanon Valley College's 8-2 win over the M1 West Chester University Golden Rams.

Hovanec scored on the power play at 15:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 1:22 into the second to make the score 2-1 M1 Lebanon Valley College.

The Flying Dutchmen found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, M1 Lebanon Valley College averages 5.3 goals per contest. The Flying Dutchmen relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Travis Acker, Andy Thurby and Zack McKown took 20 of the team's 39 shots.

M1 Lebanon Valley College also got points from Jacob Thomas, who also registered one goal and one assist, Acker, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Thurby, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. M1 Lebanon Valley College also got a goal from Matt Mcginley as well. In addition, M1 Lebanon Valley College received assists from Bradley Nolan, Matthew Reno, Nicholas Skerlick, Ryan Maraldo, and Russell Armbruster, who each chipped in one and Paul Hefferin and John Wise, who contributed two each.

M1 West Chester University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 17 shots on goal during the game, better than the 1.1 shot per game it averages.

The Golden Rams were helped by james Davis, who had one goal. Davis scored on the power play 7:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 West Chester University. M1 West Chester University earned a power play opportunity when Armbruster was put in the box for interference. Bill Swahl picked up the assist. Joseph Opdenaker also scored for M1 West Chester University. More assists for M1 West Chester University came via Michael Dorfschneider, who had one.

M1 Lebanon Valley College's Chase Wilson stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Flying Dutchmen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Golden Rams took out Mike Amoroso after he had made 18 saves and installed Michael Rice in goal, where he finished with 13 saves and the loss. M1 West Chester University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
