Cottier's big game bests Road Warriors in 13-7 Hickey Rats win

Rich Cottier was all over the ice for Hickey Rats, as he tallied four goals and three assists in Hickey Rats' 13-7 win over Road Warriors.

Cottier notched his first tally 4:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:35 into the second, at 7:56 into the second, and at 15:21 into the second.

Hickey Rats kept Road Warriors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tom Misar made 22 saves on 35 shots. Hickey Rats outdid its season average for goals scored. Hickey Rats averages 7.3 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with eight goals.

Hickey Rats also got points from Colin Lau, who also had one goal and four assists, Jake Seddon, who also registered three goals and three assists, Adrian Tyzo, who also tallied two goals and two assists, and Jordan Davies, who also had three goals and three assists.

Road Warriors managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Road Warriors finished below its season average of 3.0 penalty minutes per game. The defensemen of Road Warriors were also effective in Hickey Rats' zone, and came away with three goals.

Road Warriors was helped by Markus Lohuaru, who racked up three goals and one assist. Road Warriors additionally got points from Andrew Smart, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and John Chieng, who also registered one goal and one assist. Raymond Trinh also scored for Road Warriors. Other players who recorded assists for Road Warriors were Ryan Disterheft, who had one, Linus Lu, who had two, and Nathan Gibbs, who had four.

Hickey Rats' Ibu Sharif stopped 22 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Hickey Rats incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Road Warriors registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
