M1 Indiana Tech vanquishes M1 Kent State University in shootout, 2-1 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M1 Indiana Tech defeated the M1 Kent State University Golden Flashes in a shootout 2-1 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for four attempts between the teams. In addition to the clincher, M1 Indiana Tech got a shootout goal from Jace Childs.

M1 Indiana Tech came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. M1 Indiana Tech fell behind 1-0 after a goal by M1 Kent State University's Ctaylo79@kent.edu Taylor at 10:24 in the third period. M1 Indiana Tech knotted things up at 1-1 on a power play goal by Zachary Morlock at 15:01 in the third period.

The Golden Flashes were stymied by M1 Indiana Tech's netminder Christopher Boyd, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Boyd managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.93 prior to the game.

M1 Indiana Tech put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Kent State University to score on any of its five power plays. M1 Indiana Tech's offense operated below its season average. M1 Indiana Tech averages 4.7 goals per game. M1 Indiana Tech's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 7.9 shots per game it averages.

More assists for M1 Indiana Tech came via Quentin Holmes and Jarrett Pfeiffer, who contributed one each.
