M1 Colorado ^ University of uses shootout to best M1 Arizona ^ University of, 2-1 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Colorado ^ University of Golden Buffaloes defeated the M1 Arizona ^ University of Wildcats in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured seven attempts between both teams. M1 Arizona ^ University of's shootout goal was scored by Matthew Armenti. In addition to the clincher, M1 Colorado ^ University of got a shootout goal from Chris Burkemper.

The Golden Buffaloes were led by goalie Colin Champine, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. Champine managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.26 prior to the game.

M1 Colorado ^ University of's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M1 Arizona ^ University of power plays. The Golden Buffaloes put 36 shots on net during the contest, more than the 14.5 they average per game.

M1 Colorado ^ University of was helped by Andrew Bradford, who registered one goal. Bradford scored on the power play 13:00 into the third period to make the score 1-0 M1 Colorado ^ University of. The Golden Buffaloes earned a power play opportunity when Roy Grandov was put in the box for tripping. Matt Anders provided the assist. In addition, M1 Colorado ^ University of received assists from Burkemper, who had one.

The Wildcats' offense rang up 39 shots on M1 Colorado ^ University of's net.

M1 Arizona ^ University of was led by Brian Hogan, who scored the team's only goal. Hogan scored 14:23 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Armenti picked up the assist.

The Golden Buffaloes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Garrett Patrick made 34 saves for the Wildcats on 35 shots. M1 Arizona ^ University of incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
