M2 Southern California University beat M2 Washington State University, 6-4, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

M2 Southern California University took over the lead for good with a goal by David Begert at 18:58 in the first period. M2 Southern California University had taken the advantage when M2 Washington State University's Zach Sonnichsen got sent off for boarding. Preston Walker assisted on the tally.

Begert had four goals and one assist to lead M2 Southern California University.

M2 Southern California University pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 19 penalty minutes.

M2 Southern California University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven M2 Washington State University power plays. M2 Southern California University forced M2 Washington State University goalie Zach Stewart to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots.
