The Carleton Place Midget AAA Canadians survived a determined comeback attempt by the Ottawa Midget AAA Senators on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Ryan Bangs put Carleton Place Midget AAA up 3-0 in the second period, but Ottawa Midget AAA pulled to within one on Marcus Stepto's tally 17:38 into the third period. The Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Carleton Place Midget AAA was led by Liam Markhauser, who had one goal and one assist. Markhauser scored on the power play 8:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place Midget AAA. The Canadians earned a power play opportunity when Jean-Sylvain Boyer was put in the box for cross checking. Joey Warywoda assisted on the tally. Carleton Place Midget AAA also got a goal from Emile Cyr as well. More assists for Carleton Place Midget AAA came via Reece Bolton and Spencer Marshall, who each chipped in one. The Senators were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 14 penalty minutes. Cameron Scrivens also scored for Ottawa Midget AAA. In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Tyler Villeneuve and Noah Haymes, who contributed one each. Chris Cuglietta rejected 13 shots on goal for Carleton Place Midget AAA. The Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ottawa Midget AAA's starting goalie, Cedrick Andree, made three saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nicolas Rousseau, who stopped 14 shots.
