Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers defeated the Gloucester Midget AAA Rangers in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

Kanata Midget AAA overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lasers was down 2-0 after a goal by Gloucester Midget AAA's Nicolas Seguin at 5:18 in the second period. Kanata Midget AAA tied things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Justin Palmer at 11:05 in the second period.

Luca Nocita also scored for Kanata Midget AAA. In addition, Kanata Midget AAA received assists from Bennett Stockdale, who had two and Brian Bygrave and Cade Townend, who contributed one each.

Gloucester Midget AAA also got a goal from Cameron Sinclair as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester Midget AAA were Connor Noonan, Adam Johnston, and Marc Brosseau, who each chipped in one.

Cameron Scott recorded 22 saves for the Lasers. Kanata Midget AAA incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Rangers' Jean-Sebastien Gratton stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Gloucester Midget AAA incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
